Dominion Diving Limited is pleased to announce the newest addition to its fleet, the cargo carrying tug “DOMINION WARRIOR”. The Warrior will arrive in Halifax mid March 2018 or earlier, weather permitting. She will be arriving on the Heavy Load Carrier Stellaprima operated by Jumbo Shipping.

This vessel type is referred to as a Multicat and will provide a new resource for marine industries operating on the East Coast of Canada and North America. DDL is the first to register and flag a Multicat vessel in Canada.

DOMINION WARRIOR’s diverse capabilities include a 14 tonne bollard pull produced in a tug that has a draft of only 1.5 metres. The 1200 horsepower output is produced by twin C18 ACERT Caterpillar engines that meet Tier 2 emissions, currently meeting and exceeding the regulatory requirements for its class.

DOMINION WARRIOR’s 200 nautical miles from land operational range will not only have an evolutionary impact on the industries within Halifax Harbour, but will provide a well-equipped platform for all marine industries on the Eastern Seaboard.

This extremely adaptive vessel is like no other in Canada. The unique layout and design of the DOMINION WARRIOR provides over 100 square metres of clear deck space, on a 22 metre long vessel. It’s layout easily enables oceanographic research, carriage, and self loading of heavy cargo with reserve horsepower to carry out tasks in extreme environments such as the Bay of Fundy.
